Every single individual of Magister Management Program at Institut Management Telkom is obliged to write a thesis. As the prerequisite of getting Magister Management, thesis could assist the MM to-be in smoothing the way. However, some constraints are facing them beginning from searching the topic until reseach methodology required. Some students tend to write thesis without quality, some with quality perfectionist. Other constraint given by the institution but urgently disturbing students is about time constraint. For fresh graduates, uncompleted thesis could be blamed as to their laziness, but for employees it is difficult to find out what should be blamed. Some solution is needed whether loosening time constraint or taking comprehensive examinations as the replacemetn of thesis or maybe just sertificate of completion.

How to acquire MM certificate at IM Telkom, located in Bandung Indonesia, takes a lot of efforts. The students, firstly, have to complete six modules consisting Introduction Module, Finance, Operation and Production, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Strategic Module. During those modules, there are a lot of assignments given, two evaluation tests, and presentation. The last they have to write thesis dan defend it in front of examiners. There are two kinds of thesis defense, thesis proposal and thesis defenses.

When the students take on final effort, i.e. writing a thesis, problems come up to them. Writing a thesis takes time, beginning reading research methodology books, SPSS, quantitative methodology, thinking about quetionaire, spreading the questionaire, analyziing it, and presenting the outcome in front of examiners. The process really takes time, and this issue becomes a constraint for students. It is known that some people do not come for thesis since they have problem with the process besides working hours in the office. But, if they are successful, they enjoy the great effort. In brief, the process of writing thesis could be more taking time instead of attending six modules, meaning that practice and implication of thesis need special care from the authority.
